MUM'S GUIDE

Healing While
Parenting

You might not have had the "perfect" talk growing up. That's okay. You get to rewrite the script for her—and maybe a little bit for yourself, too.

Stories from Mums

"My mom never talked about periods. It was a secret. With my daughter, we threw a 'Period Party' with red velvet cupcakes. It sounds silly, but it broke the shame instantly."

Elena
Mom to Sophia (12)

"I try not to project my own body insecurities onto her. It's hard. But when I catch myself criticizing my reflection, I stop. I want her to see kindness, not critique."

Rachel
Mom to Liv (14)

The Connection Toolkit

Share, Don't Scare

Share your stories—the awkward crushes, the bad haircuts—but keep the scary stuff (like traumatic birth stories or horror period tales) for your friends. She needs reassurance, not warnings.

The "Open Door" Policy

Remind her often: "There is nothing you can tell me that will make me love you less or be angry at you if you're asking for help." Make safety the priority over punishment.

Rituals Matter

A weekly coffee date, watching a show together, or unboxing her MYSA box. These small rituals create a container for conversation without the pressure of a "big talk."
